Make Your Wedding Memorable
Let Kanola Band bring unforgettable New Orleans fun to your special day!
“They made our wedding day absolutely perfect!”
“We could not have been more pleased by the performance and the energy and the enthusiasm and the skill and the company of this band! They serenaded us as we entered our ceremony on the beach first too. “All You Need Is Love” for the groom and then “Here Comes the Bride” for the bride, then “Mendelssohn’s Wedding March” and then paraded us second line style all through our neighborhood. It was extraordinary! Couldn’t give them a higher rating!”
Where do Second Lines come from?
Second Lines are a uniquely New Orleans creation that began in African-American communities as a way for the whole neighborhood to celebrate. It’s origins were brought to the United States by enslaved Africans who had traditions in West African circle or ring dances. Since the late 1800s, second lines have been used for community announcements, funerals, weddings, and most notably as part of Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
